Scholarships

Students are strongly encouraged to apply for scholarships. Information and applications are available in the Career/Transfer Center B-304, Counseling Office C-302, Library, Student Development S-101 and The PLACe D-106.

Some things to keep in mind when asking for letters of recommendation:

• Ask for the letter at least two weeks before you need it.
  
• Determine when and how you will obtain the letter from the writer, i.e. , will you pick it up? do you want it mailed? Provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
  
• Discuss with the writer any specifics you would like emphasized. Better yet, provide the writer with a typewritten list in addition to discussing it with him or her. Provide a copy of the scholarship announcement.
  
• Don't forget to send a thank you note to the writer.
