Course I

Introduction to Computer Repair

This course provides an overview of computer operating systems, hardware identification and configuration, and techniques for diagnosing problems and repairing machines.

Students will learn through both lectures and labs. As the course progresses, they will become active participants in an on-site computer repair shop.

Prerequisites

Students must:

* Be at least 14 years old
* Provide their own transportation to classes (call to see if transportation arrangements are available).
* Be willing to spend time and energy studying computers

Course II

A+ Certified
Computer Service Technician

This course covers the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of personal computers. It explores in detail how to properly maintain and diagnose components such as printers, laptops, motherboards, processors, and memory. Safety and ESD (electrostatic discharge) are included in the curriculum. Other related topics include customer relations, industry standards, and the range of available careers.

Prerequisites

Students must:

* Be at least 14 years old
* Provide their own transportation to classes (call to see if transportation arrangements are available).
* It is recommended that students complete "Introduction to Computers" before applying for Course II
