SDEF is now conducting a fundraising campaign to secure the capital needed to continue providing San Diego students with the Ecocenter ’s environmental education experience.

There are three donation options available to prospective donors: naming rights for the Ecocenter and its teaching venues; student scholarships, and; new Ecocenter exhibits.

Ecocenter Naming and Signage Rights.

This donor option includes these alternatives:
• Naming of Ecocenter , with Signage Rights on El Cajon Boulevard visible from I-15 and El Cajon Blvd.
• Naming of Ecocenter "Autotorium"
• Naming of Ecocenter Tech Zone

Scholarship Support for Ecocenter Environmental Education Program.

Donors can provide varying levels of scholarship support, including:
• Educate a Generation of San Diego County Students
• Adopt a School or School District
• Economically Disadvantaged Schools Student Scholarships

Exhibit Sponsorship and Enhancements.

Enhanced Fuel Cell Exhibit.
This exhibit will introduce students to the mechanics and chemistry of fuel cell operation, with detail about the challenges and use of fuel cells in automobiles.

Hydrogen Highway Exhibit.
Stops along H2 Highway will allow students to envision hydrogen economy of the future and actually create H2 and provide devices with a fuel cell.


Every Breath You Take Exhibit.
This new exhibit will demonstrate the process of oxygen exchange between air and the lungs and body. There is a biology component, including the flow of oxygen into the blood stream and the related roles of bronchi and alveoli. There is also a public health component, including the impact of ozone, smog and particulates on lung function.
