CASA South Bayside
Bayside Elementary School, with a total enrollment of 594, is a year-round school in the South Bay Unified School District in San Diego County. The population at Bayside is composed of a large percentage of children from disadvantaged backgrounds with 69% of them receiving free or reduced fee lunches.
Since entering the public school system in January 2000, CASA has worked closely with teachers and administrators at Bayside Elementary, the South Bay Unified School District, parents, and with one of the adjacent community Colleges.

Site Activities
Other activities at this site include the CASA Parent Group (Los Promotores), and Teacher’s Group. The Promotores have recently evolved into a strong leadership group at Bayside Elementary. They are taking a lead in recruiting parent volunteers to work with the children in the CASA sessions as well as fundraising events to benefit their site operations.
