CASA North
Located in an economically depressed sector of the affluent midsize city of Solana Beach in North San Diego County, CASA North is the original site of La Clase Mágica (LCM). It is housed in a space afforded by the local Head Start Program on the grounds of St. Leo’s Mission, a Catholic Mission ministering to a Spanish-speaking laity. At this site La Clase Mágica has focused primarily on serving the Spanish-English bilingual children and adults from this community.

Other activities
The Parent Group, in partnership with CASA staff has, in essence, become the steering committee of the CASA project at this site. While some of the parents also participate in the LGD component of the project sharpening their computer skills and broadening their knowledge base, others volunteer their time to work with their own children as well as others in the project activities. It was from this group of parents that the idea for the Summer Basic Skills program emerged, as well as the idea to create and establish CASA the non-profit organization.
